Creative testing means volume. A healthy account might need 20, 50 or 100 new ads a week, each in two or three aspect ratios, named consistently and with Advantage+ creative enhancements set the way you want. Doing that one ad at a time in Ads Manager eats hours. Here are the four realistic ways to bulk upload Facebook and Instagram ads, and what each costs you.
1. Ads Manager by hand: duplicate and edit
The default: build one ad, duplicate it, swap the creative, rename it, repeat. It's free and needs no new tools, but every duplicate is a chance to forget a placement asset, leave an Advantage+ enhancement on, or break your naming convention. It works for five ads. It doesn't work for fifty.
2. Ads Manager's spreadsheet import
Ads Manager can export ads to a spreadsheet and import edited rows back, which is handy for bulk changes to text, budgets and settings. The catch is that the template is strict, the media still has to be in your account, and a single bad column can fail a whole import. It suits teams who already think in spreadsheets.
3. A bulk-launcher web app
Tools like Rapid Ads, Blip and Ads Uploader give you a dedicated screen: drop creatives in, group them into ad sets, apply naming and copy templates, launch. They're much faster than doing it by hand, and some add analytics or client review links. The trade-off is another app to log into, another place to keep settings, and per-seat or per-account pricing on some plans. We've compared them in detail: Ads Uploader, Blip, Rapid Ads.
4. Launch from chat with an MCP connector
If you already brief campaigns in Claude or Codex, a connector lets the AI do the clicking. With Ad Uploader you paste a Drive link and a brief such as "new ad sets, 5 per set, $50/day". Claude imports the files, shows a preview of every ad set and ad, and creates them paused once you say yes. No new interface, and your defaults live with each ad account.
What to get right, whichever way you choose
Name files so they group themselves
Put the aspect ratio in the filename: hook1_4x5.mp4, hook1_9x16.mp4. Most bulk tools, Ad Uploader included, use those tags to pair files into a single ad with the right asset per placement. Ad Uploader also treats hook1_thumb.jpg as the video's thumbnail.
Decide your naming convention once
Something like {campaign} | {group} | {index:01} keeps reports readable months later. Set it once and let the tool apply it to every ad set and ad. Don't rely on people typing it.
Launch paused
Create everything paused, check it in Ads Manager, then switch it on. A typo in a budget is cheap to fix before it spends.
Check Advantage+ creative enhancements
Meta can apply creative enhancements automatically. If you want your creative to run exactly as made, make sure they're off on every ad. Ad Uploader turns them off by default and only switches them on if you ask.
Quick comparison
| Method | Best for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Ads Manager by hand | A handful of ads | Slow; easy to miss settings |
| Spreadsheet import | Bulk edits to existing ads | Strict template; media must be uploaded first |
| Bulk-launcher web app | Teams who want a visual launcher | Another app and pricing model |
| MCP connector (Ad Uploader) | People who already work in Claude or Codex | Review happens in chat and Ads Manager, not in a visual builder |
