Build your pattern from placeholders
{campaign}is the campaign name.{group}is the ad set or creative group.{index:01}is a running number.{filename}and{basename}come from the creative file.{variation}is the copy or asset variation.{date}is the launch date.
Example patterns
Ad sets: {campaign} | {group} | {index:01}
Ads: {basename} | {variation} | {date}
Spring Sale | Set | 01
hook1 | v1 | 2026-11-02
Separate ad set and ad patterns are saved, so each level can show what you need in reports.
Why it pays off
- Reports stay readable months later.
- Filtering by hook, creator or test works, because names are consistent.
- New team members don't need to learn the rules.
- No more "Copy of Copy of Ad Set".
Different clients, different rules
Patterns are saved per ad account, so each client can have its own. Set one by asking: "Name ad sets {campaign} | {group} | {index:01} on this account." You'll see the names in the preview before anything is created.
Common questions
Can it rename existing ads?
It names what it creates. Existing ads keep their names in Ads Manager.
What if my pattern has a mistake?
Unknown placeholders are rejected when you save, and the preview shows real names first.
